Well, we have had a crazy past couple of days since my last post. I went to the doctor (yes, again) on Wednesday and things were progressing well so I was sent home to continue my wonderfully exciting "home rest". But then, I went on Friday for a stress test and my blood pressure was through the roof. By the end of the test, about an hour later, it still had not come down so doc decided to send me to the hospital for some blood tests. I was hooked up to all kinds of monitors (I actually felt a little like Frankenstein) and had some other tests. While there, I started having contractions that weren't too strong but very regular at about 4 minutes apart. The blood work, my blood pressure, and everything else came back okay and I was sent home. But even though my blood pressure came back to below normal, I was sent with strict bed rest orders. At about 9:30 (my bedtime, because what else am I going to do?) the contractions became very severe and we decided to go back to the hospital to see if labor was progressing. Well, no it wasn't and we were sent home with a sleeping pill for me (Peter probably needed one too along with all the other family members that knew what was happening). They were reluctant to do anything since I am 36 weeks and 4 days, still premature for 3 more days. I went back in this morning and had another stress test and BP check- everything fine again. It is funny when you reach this point because there are so many other moms that are at your stage and you can hear them and their husbands begging with the nurses to admit them "But I'm in so much pain", "I was crying in the car", etc. Yes, I tried a few of those myself and Peter told me to scream during my contractions, not that bad yet.
So here we are playing the waiting game...
