This is always exciting for her since the minute she pees, it makes a song. Well, I turned it on just as she sat down and it sang the tune before she had gone pee. She got very confused and told me "Momma, potty broken, me no go pee". I told her it was okay, it would sing the song again when she did go pee. So Nat, concentrating with all her effort mind you, tried to go pee to no avail. She looks at me and she says" Uh oh mommy no pee pee coming out. Oh no, no pee pee coming out of me body, me body broken too". Somehow this is not so funny written down but I wish y'all could hear how serious and very concerned that she was!

Santa Claus

We went to go see Santa Claus at the mall last week, I know, I know. Nat had a wonderful time and was an angel as we were there for over 2 hours taking pics and selecting them on the computer... You may remember the lovely flood of 2006 that unfortunately sorta ruined our holidays last year... Natalie definitely made up for last year, she had a wonderful time and wads very proud of herself for putting all the hooks on the ornaments and putting them on the tree! She loved to "hide" the ornaments way in the back of the tree branches so I of course moved all of those after she went to bed! I won't mention how much "FUN" I had putting up the tree myself, it totally is not meant for someone that is 5'1 and my poor arms look like I got in a fight with a cat! Well Nat practiced all day and learned that you have to say "Trick or Treat" after you knock on the door. But she picked Halloween night to be shy for the first time in her life! She would run up to the door, say please, get the candy and then as she was running away, "Bye Bye, Happy Halloween!". She was an adorable black kitty and I was the proudest mom out there. She is totally hoarse today from screaming at the top of her lungs, "Momma more kids coming" when she was handing out candy! Little thing is growing up so fast!

Let the fun begin...

                                                                    Pre-Construction

Stage 2: new cabs with some old counters

We are in Stage 2, otherwise known as "Living life with new cabinets and the new countertops aren't ready for 3 weeks..." Ha! For those of you that have been there before, you can all probably sympathize. Totally not fun with a 2 year old who totally freaked out when she came home and had nowhere to wash her hands... She did have fun brushing her teeth in the bathtub though! Brett has been a very good boy ripping out all the old stuff, setting up stuff temporarily, and entertaining me through the many hours at Home Depot. New appliances come tomorrow. Totally excited about sitting here all day tomorrow for the 4 hour time frame from 2 different stores. I guess I shouldn't whine about getting new stuff but I will be happy when all this is over!

The first one...

Natalie officially has her first black eye. She had a little mishap with Buttercup, a.k.a. Buttersnut, Nutter Butters. This is Grandma Bidegain's cat. Buttercup has been getting a little mean lately and I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact that she has been tormented for 3 years by Teala and Zoe and now for the past year, her biggest fan is Natalie. Natalie is 2, what can I say? She loves to pull her tail, poke her in the eye, and "pat" her not so softly and tell her she is a nice kitty. Well this run-in left poor Natty with a big black eye which now is 4 or 5 days old and turning a nice shade of purple with green and yellow undertones. I burst into tears when I picked her up from Nana's house yesterday. Poor thing had to get antibiotic eye drops and her little eye is all red. Very scary...

The happs...

Natalie and I have been very social this week but overall it's been a pretty routine week for us. A little Curious George, a little shopping, a little napping, and a little playing. We had Brett over for barbecue on Saturday and watched Arizona get stomped by Cal despite the fact that Nat and I were both wearing our Arizona shirts to cheer our team on. I put a picture of her up from the NAU game where she went tailgating with Peter and her nanny, oh I mean, his girlfriend. Why do I keep getting the two confused? Ha. Not so funny. Let's see what else. We went to lunch with Brett on Sunday at a mongolia bbq place and Natalie was very well behaved and didn't cause people to stare at us in horror except when she and I went to the bathroom and announced to the first person she saw that "Momma, me, go pee-pee". Thanks Nats.
We had a ton of fun on Monday night, we went to Brett's parents house for dinner. They live on an acre and have a beautiful garden with lots of bunnies and Nat was just enthralled with them. " Me see bunnies, me hold bunnies, me pet bunnies." "NO, NO, NO bunnies no run, no shoo". As much fun as she had though I think Brett's parents had a better time. They don't have any grandkids in town and they were just all about Nat. It was nice and even Mr. "wait to get married" thought it was fun and natural!
Going to Houston tomorrow to see Tim. He was released today from the hospital and Mom says he's doing good so far. He is down to 130lbs but actually climbed the steps up to the bedroom with his cane and apparently felt well enough to eat some tacos!

Breakthrough!

We finally had a breakthrough today! Nat went down for her nap without a fuss, all curled up in the covers, sleeping in one of my t-shirts with lamby in her arms. I also settled down for a nap and when I woke up... Natalie's door was open, she was curled up on her bed naked, no diaper etc. I looked in the bathroom and she had gone pee without waking me up and then put herself back down for her nap!!! I covered her up and she just kept right on sleeping, in the nude!
On the other hand, Teala has been very naughty and got in the trash last night. Natalie and I were having a little treat of oreos and milk before bed while watching a movie and out came "Oh shit momma, cookies all gone, where cookies?".
I am hoping and praying that she was just talking about the cookies that were sitting on the couch as the word "sit" often comes out somewhere between 'seat' , 'sit', and 'shit'. But who knows? I am hoping that she doesn't have a mouth like her father...Which reminds me of another time that we were in the car and Natalie was talking about sitting on the potty and going poo-poo. Unfortunately, the word poop was coming out like 'boo' and then she was saying 'shit' for seat. So the whole thing was very amusing when she yelled out at the top of her lungs "BULLSHIT MOMMA". I swear the guy in the convertible next to us was looking at me and probably was considering calling CPS...
And you are probably telling yourself that this sweet little girl in the picture couldn't have said such awful things, yeah right, this picture was 2 months ago!

2 year check up!

Natalie had her 2 year check up today... all is well! Skinny little thing is 26 pounds and 33 inches tall. She's on the 75th percentile for height and 25-50th for weight. You won't hear me complain about that but I will definitely be giving her some oreos at night! She had some shotters but she was good girl and got some nice band-aids to cover her ouchies. The doctor asked about her speech and language development and so Peter had to have her show off a nice story. Well, duh, her mom is a speech therapist. I might be a teensy bit proud of her!
We slept well last night, I ended up having to "lock" Nat in her room so that she couldn't come out and tell me she needed to go "pee-pee" or "poo-poo" or "watch blue momma". I felt kinda mean but she was banging on her door once and I simply went to the door and told her that she needed to go back to bed, that I was not going to open the door! She said "yea" in the most pathetic little voice I have ever heard but I didn't hear her anymore. What a relief!
Busy this week... we are going to be re-doing my cabinets and countertops in the next couple of weeks so I am totally excited. I have this nice boy who is going to help me out and he's kinda cute too! I am sure he will enjoy reading that!

We're Back!

Well after a long break, I have been encouraged to get back to my blogging! Thanks Tam, I totally have time to keep up with this! But I will try... it is kinda cool to read old posts especially about Nat and think how far we have come!
So... Natalie just turned 2 on August 20th and we are definitely in the terrible 2's. At least she was sorta good before so maybe they won't be too awful! Ha, who am I kidding?? We are officially potty trained, notice that I said "we". For you moms out there, that also means that we get to get up in the middle of the night and take our kids to the potty where the Dora seat is, help them do their business, flush, wash their hands, pull up their pants, and get them back into bed. Usually this tends to happen the most when I can't even open my eyes or I have taken a Tylenol PM and feeling loopy. Nat is also sleeping in a big girl bed which is fantastic, and I mean that with all sincerity especially when I have taken her back to bed for the 95th time in one night. Hopefully we are over that soon! Tee-Tee and Nat are doing great, Nat thinks she is a horse but loves feeding hr and giving her cookies. Right before she pulls her tail or tries to poke her in the eye! Gotta love it.
For those of you that know what happened to Tim, please keep him in your thoughts!!
More to come!

CHECK OUT MY "LITTLE GIRL"- 14 months, it goes too fast!

I created a Slide Show! I am now the proud owner of not one tooth, not two teeth, but three teeth. My top one finally broke through two nights ago and now I am a little lopsided since my other top one hasn't come in yet. Aren't they supposed to come at the same time so I am not so miserable? If I do say so myself, I still have been a pretty good baby. I haven't had much of an appetite but I have made up for it today, we went to Bison Witches for lunch! In other news, I am standing by myself for up to 20 seconds. I have been practicing all day long and just love to let go. I get really excited and start clapping and then I lose my balance. But so far so good. As soon as you can see my new tooth, I'll put some pictures up!

I'm 9 months old!

Well.... let's see what's happening. I just turned 9 months old this past Saturday. Wow, am I getting big. I weigh 17lbs 12 oz now and am 27 3/4 inches long. Doc says I'm slender, 75% for height and 25-50% for weight. My mommy says she's happy ahout that! Not much has changed since my last blog. I had a fabulous weekend with both of my grandparents. Grandma and Grandpa Walker came all the way from Texas. I think that is really far away, because the people talk funny there. We got to do lots of fun stuff like eat out and go to Toys R' Us. I got this neat piano from my grandparents that I can stand up on and it has a monkey that dances. If I dance on the mat, it makes the music go! We also went down to the ranch over the weekend and I got to play in the grass. It kinda itches my legs but man, it tastes good. I am not walking yet but I am testing out my balance by letting go for a few seconds at a time. I am really excited about this and when I fall as long as my mommy doesn't say uh-oh, I don't cry. She scares me when she says that! My two new favorite things: standing at the windowsill and banging on the glass and "getting mommy and daddy". If they sit on the floor and give me permission to "get them", I crawl over and climb on them and hit them with my little hands. They giggle and squeal when I do that. Teala and I are becoming really good friends now that I eat so much. Teala loves to come up and "clean" my legs when I am in the highchair, she finds all kind of goodies like peas and turkey sticks. Still loving the eating thing, pretty much anything and everything! That's all for now.

Wow, I am almost 9 months

Well my mommy forgot to remind me to do my "8 month post" on April 20th. We have been so busy and now I am almost 9 months! I am growing so fast, my little mouth can't keep up. I am eating everything in sight and last night I ate salmon and sweet beans with mommy and daddy. They didn't even cook anything special for me! I loved the salmon but it made my hair kinda stinky so mommy gave me a bath. She likes me to smell like roses. I don't know what those are but I know my poo-poo doesn't smell like it! I am cruising using all the furniture in the house and really like to play in the closet with all of mommy's shoes. I have been helping her put on makeup in the morning and she says all the old people she works with like it better! My grandma and grandpa walker are coming to visit me next week too!

Happy Easter!

                                                                        Happy Easter!
I got to go see the Easter bunny for the very first time. I think I sorta look like him, too!

My first swim...

Mommy and Daddy took me swimming over at Grandma's house this weekend. Since my last post, I have learned to make some really "cute"noises that my mommy and daddy don't really like, I have a new smile, and yesterday, I started waving when people wave at me and say "hi". I am not crawling yet, but getting really close. It's really frustrating for me! I really like watching the dogs play with that fuzzy little yellow thing that mommy and daddy call a "ball". It's real funny! Here's some pictures with me and my mommy and Zoe and Teala. I am almost 7 months old and my mommy can't get over it. I am really quite a monkey; trying to crawl everywhere, pulling myself up, eating the table, pulling mommy's hair, and rolling over when she tries to change my diaper! She really loves that last one. I am getting my two bottom teeth so it has been a really long week for everybody but they are all the way through my gums and just need to grow upwards! It's been hard for mommy to feed me but I'm just so cute she puts up with it! I am eating baby food 3 times a day now and mommy is trying to give me bottles but I close my lips and shake my head so she knows that I would rather have the other thing:-). We are going to St. Louis in 2 weeks so I can meet all my family up there, my great grandparents and all my cool cousins. I am really excited to meet my cousin Livvie because she is 1 1/2 and her mommy said that maybe I can borrow some of her clothes!!! That's all for now, I'll have mommy post my 7 month pictures!

Natalie is 6 months!

Big girl Natalie turned 6 months old on February 20! She is really doing well, she is up to 15 lbs 3 oz now and those jelly donuts on her thighs are really looking tasty! She is rolling over in both directions and from belly to back and back to belly! She is really trying to crawl but since she can't, she just keeps rolling over until she gets where she wants to go! Pete and I think she will be crawling in the next couple of weeks, not that I am in any rush, I sorta like her immobile. She is taking some baby food usually twice a day, pears, bananas, sweet potatoes, and squash today. (That is what is all over her face in the picture!) She devours the sweet potatoes, she must have some of that southern blood in her. I guess she'll be liking some sweet potato pie in the near future... She is loving to play, and can actually entertain herself for 10-15 minutes while sitting on the floor!
Peter started his new job about a week and a half ago and is so far loving it... work is going pretty good for me too. She is still a perfect angel and just needs lots of hugs and kisses to make her better! We did take her to the pediatrician just to make sure she didn't get an ear infection, she was okay. She has been practicing sitting up by herself for a couple of weeks now and today she finally did it! She lasted about 5 minutes before falling forwards on her cute little nose, which elicited a big giggle out of her. We are having tons of fun with her as she just grows up a little bit more every day! I really have no idea how much she weighs but I am going to guess about 15 lbs, she is wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes and she's got some nice jelly donuts on her thighs!

On another note, Peter is getting really excited for me to get pregnant again... We are getting close, but give a lady a break! I see all these cute pregnant ladies and think... There is something about seeing that baby for the first time that makes you forget about all the morning sickness, weight gain, swelling, no sleeping, frequent trips to the ladies room, and the joys of labor! And don't forget about the CRS syndrome- "Can't remember shit" and Peter's favorite, "Preggars can't be choosers" when complaining that you have nothing to wear because nothing fits! No, but really, pregnancy IS FUN...

Work is going good, I am actually going to start working 4 days a week for a little extra money so I can take lots of time off with the next baby. She is really getting strong and almost sitting up by herself, I can tell she is very anxious to start crawling... Wow... 2005 went by in a blur- I am a new mommy and these past few months with Natalie have flown by.

We had a great Christmas in Houston with the folks and a big party for Natalie to meet all her Texas friends! Natalie got to take her first ride on a motorcycle with her Uncle Tim (just kidding speechies- no TBI's for my baby)... but here's a pic of her. Grandma Walker is shipping us her boxes of presents, she really made out. I got some perfume... hmmm.

On another note, we celebrated New Years with a couple of friends here in town. Peter made a fancy gourmet dinner and we had lots to drink. This was all well and good when we went to bed at 2:30 until Nat got up at 6:00. Everyone else slept till 11 or so, but a mommy's work is never done! Here's some pics from the beginning of the night (when Nat was still awake), the ones from the end of the night are not so "sophisticated". Natalie would be ashamed of us!

I hope everybody has a great year, and oh yeah, my resolutions: Kiss my daughter every single chance I get, make some more babies, and stop working so darn hard!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from Natalie! I guess from Peter,Sarah,Teala, and Zoe too! Nat is doing great, she's 16 weeks old! She is just getting so mature every day, I know, I know I say that every time. She has begun to find herself in the mirror and she likes to smile and have a little conversation with herself. She is also sitting up (sometimes) by herself for a minute or so until she topples forward! She is giggling all the time and is quite entertaining! She is getting very excited to go to Houston, we leave next Wednesday. Grandma and Grandpa are throwing a huge party for her so that everyone can meet her! She is quite the socialite, this is her second real cocktail party already! We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!
p.s. This is Grandpa Bidegain in the Santa costume!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well Natalie's first Thanksgiving passed by in a blur of dreams... We went down to Sonoita to Peter's Aunt Brenda's house. The food was wonderful as always and I think I ate too much! We went to the pediatrician today (Friday) for some more shots and a checkup. She's up to 12 lbs 9 oz and 231/2 inches long. She's doing great! She can now roll over to the side but not completely over and is really loving sitting in her boppy on the couch. She has had a little stuffed nose this week but she is back to sleeping through the night.
Peter on the other hand is driving me nuts. Peter and I are in shock at how fast she is growing and maturing and developing her own little personality! We had a nice visit from Grandma Walker last weekend, who loved on her and spoiled her with those Grandma kisses! She is getting so huge, she is already starting to grow out of her 3-6 month pj's beacuse she is really long! She still has her favorite things but lately she has absolutely loved getting her diaper changed (go figure!) and singing with mommy. I have actually heard her laugh 3 times, particularly with the songs, "This is the way we wash our clothes..." and "The wheels on the bus go round and round...". I am getting more familiar with all these silly songs but she likes it just as much if we make up our own songs so who really cares what the words are?! She has her very first cocktail party this weekend at our house, I don't think she'll have any of the Mexican Martinis though...
Things are going great here. I will be starting back to work on November 21st just 3 days a week. It will be really weird to leave her but I am so glad to not be doing management because I won't get so stressed! Although my previous employees will now be my boss...

This little piggy...

So... Natalie is getting really big now and weighs about 12 lbs! She is completely adorable all the time, she even looks more mature! She is getting some nice "jowls" and fat rolls on her legs. I joke with Peter that the fatter she gets, the more she looks like mommy! We are having tons of fun together and I am really dreading having to go back to work on November 21st. We are really lucky though because Grandma Bidegain is going to watch her 3 days a week so I can work and not have to put her in day care! Natalie still loves doing the same things and she is getting stronger every day. She is really starting to push with her legs when you put her on her tummy and can even scoot herself forward a little! She loves to be over your shoulder and looking around or on your lap! She has actually slept completely through the night the past 3 nights, from 9-5 and then I feed her and she goes back down until about 7:30 or 8! We are very very lucky.

We had our first overnight trip with her this weekend to go visit her "Uncle Josh", Peter's best friend for many years. Uncle Josh is also going to be Natalie's godfather, yea! So we went to Josh's house in Sierra Vista, AZ and also got to visit Tombstone and some other not so well known cities like Whetstone and Huachuca City. Our good friend Nolana's dad is actually the mayor of Huachuca City. Peter's only claim to fame is that he went to high school in Tombstone. So... it's not really like the movie, people do have indoor plumbing and they do drive in cars (not horses). However, there was a real rootin' tootin' gun fight at exactly 3 pm on the main strip of Tombstone. I think it might have been rehearsed.

So... let's see. What's new with me? Not much. We are painting this weekend and Peter might clean the yard and pick up poo-poos from the dogs. Shall I go on? Nah, I think I'll stick with news about Natalie...

Cool Guys

Yesterday I went to the gym and it really reminded me how silly guys are. First, let's preface this by describing the gym I go to. It's a YMCA filled with lots and lots of old people with matching "SILVER SNEAKERS" t shirts and lanyards around their necks (very much like picture above). The sit down bikes are always full because, let's face it, those cuties can't do much else. That being said, I got some real entertainment yesterday. These two average guys (not at all like picture above), probably late 30's were working out on the leg press. They were slowly building up the weights on each side and taking turns. It got to the point that gym dude #2 would have to help the gym dude #1 on the machine by pushing on the weight bars to get it started. You think this would be enough weight, but no, guys are too cool. So last set, 360 on each side, that's 720 lbs for you math nerds, and no longer is just one guy enough to get it started. So they start looking around the gym to see who is going to help them. They look at me and think, "Nope. New mom. Can only lift 10 lb baby." They look a little further and see the silver sneakers club and think, "Nope. Need help tying their shoes." They keep looking and are really starting to get disappointed. Then gym dude #1 goes and gets the receptionist guy to help. I think gym dudes had stopped thinking at this point because this guy was probably 5'5'' and 140 lbs (he also looked like he was not old enough to drive). But he sauntered in, ready to help gym dudes. So here we are: gym dude #1 on leg press with 720 lbs, Gym dude #2 on one side, and 12 year old receptionist on the other. They push and push but can't get the machine started. 12 year old dude is straining so hard, I thought he was going to poop his pants. When is enough enough? I really don't know who they were showing off for, maybe they thought the little blue haired ladies with matching keds were cute. These guys were just too cool, they did leave after this and I do have to mention, didn't bother re-racking their weights.
See my life is kinda boring huh?

6 weeks!

Well I guess now that my own life is not so interesting so it seems like all my further blogs will be about Natalie. She had her six week check up on Friday and is now up to 9 lbs, 11 oz! She had to get 4 shots, which she didn't like too much. She smiled at us today for the first time this morning when we woke her up, she is really responding to us and just getting so much personality! She is holding her head up for several minutes at a time and if you're not careful, you might get head butted! She loves swinging, eating, pooping, and laying on her daddy's chest. She is even learning how to bribe the dogs for kisses with cookies (as seen in the picture above).
If you would like to see more pictures, you can check out our website at http://photos.yahoo.com/bidegaingirl.

Natalie is 4 weeks!

Little Miss Natalie is doing awesome, she is 4 weeks old yesterday and getting so mature. She has really developed a lot of personality and is starting to "talk" alot. By "talk" I mean grunt and scrunch up her face. We are having a ton of fun with her and took her down to 4th Avenue here in Tucson to our favorite dive restaurant Bison Witches yesterday! She loves to fall asleep on her daddy's chest and go for walks in her stroller. Her big sisters, especially Zoe, are taking great care of her and help Mommy and Daddy when she is crying. Zoe is very maternal and would lick her all day if we would let her! She is starting to hold her head up for longer periods of time and definitly recognizes her name! Here is a picture of Natalie wide awake in her crib.

9 days already

Little Miss Natalie is growing up right before our eyes. I just had her weighed at the pediatrician and she is up to 6lbs 13 oz, up 5 oz in 3 days! She is doing wonderfully, we have been blessed with the calmest and happiest baby in the world! She is staying up with her daddy till about 10:30 at night and usually wakes us once at about 2:30 to eat and then sleeps till about 5:30. Lucky us! She got to meet her great grandfather this weekend, he exclaimed "HOLY MACKAREL!" when he saw her and had tears in his eyes when he was holding her. Here's a 4 generation picture with Peter III (my husband), Peter II, and Peter I holding Natalie! These first few days have been pretty good and I am feeling well... we'll keep you posted.

It's finally happening!!!

Yea!!! So I have gone back to the hospital several more times these past couple of days and today they are finally giving me the green light to induce! Thank god. I will go back in tonight at 8 and she will start me off with a cervadyl and then tomorrow morning, the pitocin. I am so ready for this to happen and just glad that I am not sitting around questioning everything. Wish me luck, I will talk to everybody soon.

Another update...

Well, we have had a crazy past couple of days since my last post. I went to the doctor (yes, again) on Wednesday and things were progressing well so I was sent home to continue my wonderfully exciting "home rest". But then, I went on Friday for a stress test and my blood pressure was through the roof. By the end of the test, about an hour later, it still had not come down so doc decided to send me to the hospital for some blood tests. I was hooked up to all kinds of monitors (I actually felt a little like Frankenstein) and had some other tests. While there, I started having contractions that weren't too strong but very regular at about 4 minutes apart. The blood work, my blood pressure, and everything else came back okay and I was sent home. But even though my blood pressure came back to below normal, I was sent with strict bed rest orders. At about 9:30 (my bedtime, because what else am I going to do?) the contractions became very severe and we decided to go back to the hospital to see if labor was progressing. Well, no it wasn't and we were sent home with a sleeping pill for me (Peter probably needed one too along with all the other family members that knew what was happening). They were reluctant to do anything since I am 36 weeks and 4 days, still premature for 3 more days. I went back in this morning and had another stress test and BP check- everything fine again. It is funny when you reach this point because there are so many other moms that are at your stage and you can hear them and their husbands begging with the nurses to admit them "But I'm in so much pain", "I was crying in the car", etc. Yes, I tried a few of those myself and Peter told me to scream during my contractions, not that bad yet.
So here we are playing the waiting game...

Update on Pregnancy

So now I get to go to the doctor three times a week... which is not actually that bad since I am not doing much anyway. We have decided to do non-stress testing twice a week in addition to my normal visits just to make sure that the baby is moving okay and was not troubled by my bout with high blood pressure. Anyway, I went last Thursday and we are thinking that we will induce somewhere around 38 weeks. Doc is reluctant to give me a straight answer so we are playing the waiting game. Peter is not sleeping well at night thinking that I am going into labor at any moment and if I wake him up and ask him for a glass of water, he bolts out of bed thinking that I said "My water broke". We went on our hospital tour last night here at Tucson Medical Center, pretty nice but I hope the nurses are a little smarter than our tour guide! This morning, I met with the pediatrician to "check her out", she is great; at least this is one area I don't have to worry about. Pregnancy is one big state of worry... your first trimester, all you think about is whether you are going to make it to the bathroom on time and if the baby is healthy. Then second trimester, you lie waiting for one faint movement, pushing on your belly, trying to get the baby to move. Then third trimester, you really start freaking. When's the baby coming? Is he/she healthy? WHAT AM I DOING? I guess it is good preparation for parenthood. I thought I worried about my dogs, that was nothing. One bit of advice for anyone thinking of getting pregnant, DON'T LISTEN TO ANYONE'S ADVICE AND DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHER PREGNANT LADIES. Everyone is uniquely different and all it will do is freak you out.

What I learned today

Well so far it is 11:30 in the morning, and I feel like I have had a rather educational day. I watched Montel Williams this morning and he taught me that if I spoil my kid too much, they may develop separation anxiety and try to kill me with a knife if I need to leave and go to the grocery store. No ice cream or toys for you, Natalie! Let's see... then I watched this wonderful program on Lifetime and I learned there that yes, drinking during pregnancy is bad and that according to the main character on the show, it should be a crime. Also, the doctor in this show purposely gets the drunk pregnant lady arrested for a DUI and goes to all her family members and co-workers to arrange an intervention. And who said doctors are too busy to spend quality time with you? If you are ever stuck at home like me, you'll realize that your standard of GOOD TV goes down quite a bit.
I should also add in some things that I have learned from my ever-so-smart husband during this pregnancy. While spending hours roaming the aisles at Babies R Us (which let me tell you how much he loves) we discovered some interesting items.

While looking at mattresses for cribs, we found one with a 30 year warranty, and my husband quickly responded "For the baby that stops growing". Really, do we need a 30 year warranty on a crib mattress?

Then we discovered the high chair aisle. My husband found a high chair that claimed it "Stimulates your baby to keep learning" with all the gadgets and toys on it. I believe my husband said something to the effect of "Thank god. This is for babies who just give up and STOP learning!"

So here we are...

Well I just learned about this new craze from one of my friends in San Diego and I have decided "WHY NOT?". As some of you know, I am about 8 1/2 months pregnant and stuck at home on this wonderful thing my doctor calls "Home rest". Not as great as it sounds. But I have LOTS of free time on my hands but on the other hand, that may make my blog pretty darn boring.
Peter and I are anxiously awaiting the birth of our daughter, Natalie Walker Bidegain, hopefully sometime near the end of August. My actual due date is September 7 but for those of you that haven't had a baby, you're ready to get it out of you once you're about 8 months. It has been a long hot summer being pregnant, especially when the temperatures hit 112 degrees in July. Our dogs, Teala and Zoe, are not quite sure what is happening and I think they are in for a rude awakening when the baby comes.
So let's see if we can keep up with this and keep you all up to date.
